CORE VALUES

A MESSAGE FROM DR. SANDI

Sandi Headshot

Hello, I want to extend my gratitude for visiting our website and share the heartfelt motivation behind the creation of Title IX Consulting Group.

The passion to impact societal norms began when I was a child, surrounded by the devastating effects of sexual violence. This personal history ignited my motivation to work alongside a criminal defense attorney, analyzing sexual violence cases for eight years. During this time, I second-chaired court hearings and provided legal analysis for sex-based cases. Concurrently, I obtained a teaching credential and directed sexual abuse prevention programs within multiple public school systems. The intersection of law and education captivated me, and my experiences guided me toward a deep understanding of sexual violence policy analysis, adjudication, prevention education, and administrative implementation.

This journey led to my Title IX expertise, which I solidified during my doctoral program at Claremont Graduate University, where I earned a dual PhD in Education and Public Policy, focusing on Title IX policy and cases. To further grasp the complexities of higher education, I began leading Title IX compliance analysis and implementing best practices at institutions like Claremont Graduate University and Colorado State University. Additionally, I volunteered at rape crisis centers, assisting in developing complaints against institutions for deliberate indifference with the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR). My commitment to combating sexual discrimination, harassment, and misconduct only grew stronger as I encountered heart-breaking personal stories and statistical realities, such as:

  • 54% of sexual assault victims are under 30 years of age.
  • Approximately 1 in 5 women and 1 in 15 men have experienced rape or attempted rape in their lifetime.
  • About 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of intimate partner violence.
These experiences and statistics fueled my determination to find solutions to combat sexual discrimination through the protections provided by the 1972 Title IX Education Amendment Act and the Jeanne Clery Act of 1990.

Title IX Consulting Group was founded to provide comprehensive solutions for K-12 schools, community colleges, and universities, helping them implement Title IX best practices. We offer expert analysis for law firms to strengthen due process and justice in Title IX cases, provide advice and coaching for students dealing with Title IX matters, and support educational organizations in enhancing their overall Title IX and Clery Act compliance.

Our mission is driven by a commitment to creating safer, more equitable educational environments for all.

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
